Since 1992, Sahyadri Nisarga Mitra has been protecting wildlife in the Konkan — Olive Ridley turtles, vultures, other birds, Indian pangolins, and many more. While protecting them, we discovered how plastic pollution affects their lives and their surroundings.

And that’s how Aparant (Konkan) was born — In the span of the last 4 years, we’ve collected and recycled 200 metric tons of plastic that would have ended up in landfills or oceans, causing more pollution. Along with that, we’ve handcrafted plastic waste into upcycled bags, purses, and essentials.
